5 Top Tips To Buying a Secondhand BMW

We all love Secondhand BMW,  Some people can afford brand new, but most of us us can’t. Some people have the money for a brand new BMW but choose to spend it on an older secondhand BMW. This is all fine and well. No matter what secondhand BMW you get, you just bought a BMW. And if you are an enthusiast like me then hell yes! The more the merrier.

I have been looking at purchasing another secondhand BMW for myself, an E28 M5 no less. I know what I want, but I can never settle on just one, I see too many I want, so I was trying to take the advice I give to others and figure out what I want, and while doing this I came up with the top five tip to buying a secondhand BMW.

Five Tips for Buying a Secondhand BMW.

5) Check on ebay for your next BMW. although don’t ever commit to buy it unless you’ve seen it and had it inspected properlyideally a secondhand BMW technician that knows the model but as those aren’t available to everyone a good mechanic should stop you from a big mistake. If you have to then pay a few quid to have the cars checked out. A lot of the time it can be fine to purchase without seeing it in person, but I really wouldn’t recommend it. You can still pick up some amazing secondhand BMW’s on the internet from dealers or private owners. Some owners just need to get rid of the cars and want the money.

4) Check out the local Car Sales. See if there are any secondhand BMW’s that you like. There are going to be some car dealers that will not have much of a clue on what kind of secondhand BMW they are selling and will price it lower then it should be. Even though this is a great price, it is still worth having it checked by someone who knows what they’re looking for.

3) Go to a secondhand car dealer that you trust. There is a local car sales in Bristol where I live that is owned by two friends of my son. They are good guys and I have some trust in them for a lot of stuff. They borrow my drums froom time to time for their band and my son hangs out with them a lot. I know what they paid for the secondhand BMW’s they come across, and I can honestly say that they are making a very small profit from them. Try and find people like that in your area, even if it’s a friend of a friend, it can go a long way. Take the prices that they have and match them to similar cars online or at another car sales. Still, though, no matter what, always assume that there is something wrong with the car and have it checked out.

2) Buy a Secondhand BMW from BMW themselves. Go to your local BMW dealer and purchase one that you like the look of and works with your budget. You will pay a little more for a secondhand BMW from BMW, but that extra warranty and peace of mind really can be worth it? If you decide to purchase a secondhand BMW from the main dealer I have never heard of there being a problem, and them not doing something to fix it straight away, it is not in their reputation’s interest but if this were to happen, you can easily contact BMW and report them. Research on the BMW website or at your local dealer the finance rates on certain cars. Some dealers will offer great deals if for instance you have a company car allowance.

1) DO NOT BUY THE SECONDHAND BMW YOU SEE! Take all of the tips I’ve covered here and know more about purchasing a secondhand BMW. If your gut says no, or that there seems to be something wrong here, then there probably is! and just walk away. Don’t trust anyone, know whether they are telling the truth or not. Research your secondhand BMW information. Have someone that knows about the car take a look at with you. Always budget for the possibility that something could go wrong with your secondhand BMW and you have to pay good money to have it fixed. No car is perfect, not even a BMW.

These are the best top 5 tips to buying a secondhand BMW I can give. I hope these help you in some way.
